About 6 months - a year to be stable, another year to stop the boom-and-bust cycles, it takes a lot of patience. What helped/helps me the most is to put things back in perspective: I don't HAVE to trade. In fact, sitting on my hands and not trading is one of the best thing I can do, none of my capital is at risk! It takes a while to get used to the idea, as a software eng. it felt intuitive that more work == more outcome but with trading it's mostly the opposite.

For me, the biggest shifts were establishing a complete end-to-end process, and moving away from trading throughout the day. I do my analysis once per day, defining my trades fully, setting orders, and then I step away and go about my day. There’s no real-time decision making because my entries, risk, and targets are already decided before any of my orders hit the market. It's a perfect lifestyle fit and it's extremely low-stress.

it took me 3-4 years and what i regret the most is losing my money while learning, couldve just demo traded until i was sure what i was doing, but knowing in real time that i knew nothing was good indicator at the time i guess. what helped me get profitable was 24/7 at the charts analyzing for 4 years and a 300$ a year tradingview membership :D (volume profile, also free indicator by community "volume analysis") basically what i do to trade btc 40x lev nowadays i just check the poc (point of control) price, when volume analysis indicator gives high enough volume on 1hr or 4hr i wait for 4hr close and go against the high volume candle, but the candle has to be above or below poc and always target poc at first then see if the blowback fails the move if it doesnt enter again and wait for the opposite entry to close the position and open another. currently at 50+ trades in a row with profit at 2-50% profit per trade.

4 years, what helped me was backtesting many ideas until I found one that works well.

It's different for everyone. Do you have a good strategy? Do you follow your rules and the proper risk management? Average strategy, like any out there, has above 50% win rate. Just a matter of how disciplined you are as a person and how well you can execute the same thing over and over again

I started to move from break even to slightly profitable 6 months into a daytrading. The main things for me were - keeping size small, accepting loses and letting runners run.

Do you want to actually succeed? Are you willing to put in the work and have self restraint? Took me a little over a year. This is NOT a get rich quick scheme. You need to put in actual work, actual learning time. How long would it take you to become an electrician? How long to become a plumber?

I had a rough week myself, but I'm looking to rebound next week. I swing traded for about 8 and a half years then went to momentum trading about a year and a half ago. Was profitable swing trading and took me about a month to start getting the hang of momentum trading, and still profitable today. You're going to have some good days and weeks and bad ones too. The key to it all is don't Revenge trade, review your strategy, see where things went wrong and work to improve your entry and exit points.
