GoPro, 다시 주목받을까? 🔍

I don't think it's surprising Q1 earnings were down. GoPro tended to have a firm release date on new models (September every year). Last year there wasn't a release of a new GoPro Hero 14 (and now we know why!). So that would have very negatively affected sales. People were holding off on purchasing wondering if a new model was coming which didn't do much in the way of sales for the Hero 13.

Stocks were high until GoPro announced they missed targets in Q1 by quite a margin and also mentioned that they were open to partnerships, mergers or even a sale of the company (nothing confirmed, just that they were examining interested parties offers).

How well the Mission 1 series sells may put them back into profitability, it's clear they are making this a priority with the amount of accessories they are planning to release for the camera also. Longer term there's a huge market for GoPro with their forthcoming motorbike helmets with integrated cameras. That's a huge market to get into (especially when you're the one holding the patents) and they've already mentioned licensing the tech. They have already partnered with a major helmet manufacturer and there are other investors on board.

If GoPro can weather the current storm with their stock price (which is now slowly rebounding it seems), then once the helmets are released (which should be in Q3 I believe), I think it's quite possible GoPro stock will shoot up.

The exploration of Aero and defense.... it's nice to hear, I think the advantage GoPro would have is the competition are unlikely to get such contracts due to current restrictions. However one bri... I mean.... "political donation" could make that restriction disappear.
