사람들이 흔히 오해하는 부분이죠. 트레이딩에서 ‘포기하지 마라’는 말은 잘못된 방법일 경우 위험할 수 있습니다. 마치 외과 수술 공부도 안 하고 수술하다 환자가 죽는데 ‘포기하지 말고 동기 부여를 유지하라’는 말과 같아요. 중요한 건 정신력이 아니라 제대로 된 교육, 시스템, 감독이 있는지입니다. 트레이딩이 수술과 같진 않지만 같은 논리입니다. 시스템이 잘못됐다면 집요함은 오히려 피해만 키웁니다. 대부분 사람들은 동기 부여보다 더 나은 전략과 리스크 관리, 그리고 적은 위험 노출이 필요합니다.

This is the part I think people get wrong. Telling someone in trading “don’t give up” can be dangerous if the underlying process is broken. Imagine someone who never studied surgery, starts operating on people, patients keep dying, and the advice is: “Don’t give up. Stay motivated.” That would be insane. The first question would not be whether he is mentally strong enough. It would be whether he has the training, the structure, the supervision, and the right to be doing it in the first place. Trading is obviously not surgery, but the logic is similar. If the system is wrong, persistence just makes the damage bigger. Most people don’t need more motivation. They need a better business plan, better risk structure, and smaller exposure while they are still learning.
