i started pretty small too and honestly the emotional swings still felt huge lol. i think starting small probably helped more than jumping in big cuz it exposed all the psychology issues early without completely wrecking me. ive mostly been focusing on testing signals on alphanova first now before worrying too much about scaling capital.

I started with around $500 myself. I added funds gradually over time and total invested ended up around $2,750 Right now the account is around $4,300 after about 5 months because I’ve also been withdrawing and reinvesting along the way. Honestly I think starting smaller helped my psychology a lot. Even with a smaller account the emotional swings can feel huge in the beginning 😅 If I restarted today I’d probably do the exact same thing again: start smaller, learn the system properly, and scale slowly instead of going all-in from day one.

30,000달러로 시작했어요. 5년간 모의거래와 기술적·기본적 분석, 계산을 한 후에 큰 금액으로 시작했죠. 큰 금액으로 시작하면 금방 자본을 키워야한다는 압박이 줄어들고 레버리지가 꼭 필요하지 않다는 걸 알게 됐어요. 필요하다면 레버리지도 2~3배로 적게 쓰는 게 낫고, 시장 조정기에 대응하는 데도 훨씬 도움이 됩니다. 많은 소액 투자자들은 높은 레버리지 때문에 약간만 시장이 흔들려도 손실을 크게 보는데 저는 오히려 그 틈을 이용해 수익도 냈어요.

Starting with a bigger account takes some of the pressure of trying to quickly make it bigger. It also made me see that you do not require leverage, or if you really want to, it can be very small (2x-3x, instead of 20x, 30x or 100x) It also helps you survive the ebb and flow of the market, where a more than slightly negative move will take most retailers out because they are leveraged up to their tits. This means that if the fundamentals are bullish, but the market has a slight dip, I won't get taken out. In fact, I had enough cash to actually profit from some of the recent dips.

Started with 5k account too for a couple years just to understand what is going on. But real trading for income requires margin, and portfolio margin requirements are usually at least 100k+. When I started trading full time for income I used a 200k account but that was many, many years ago

started 7 days ago with 1000 pounds (after four ish trades - i am 1170). its been fun and definitely the right decision to start small and learn and finetune and understand my own psychology. its also alot of hard work which somehow makes me more confident i will figure it out. because if there is one thing i am good at, its hard work and consistency.
