The reality when starting day trading is you're probably going to make losses or break even for a while (possibly years) until you learn to be profitable. Some people give up before they get there. Money doesn't just "multiply". It's an exercise in discipline where you develop a strategy with an edge.

My advice is to radically accept that your job will enable you to learn how to trade and create a safety net. Agonizing over your career and rushing to get out will only hinder that process. Trading is hard and it will take a lot of time for things to click. If and when you turn profitable, you need to atleast have 2 years of expenses saved up before going fulltime is even a sound decision.

Sorry to burst your bubble but youre better off finding a new job that is more tolerable for you while you learn this new skill.

If you want to learn about trading, I think the two best free resources are SMB Capital and Lance Breitstein.

With that said, this is not the way out of the rat race nor is it some easy way to make money. It's like starting your own business. Requires upfront capital that you're willing to lose, hundreds of hours of work, and years before you're seeing consistent profitability. You see a lot of PNL posts on here with people showing incredible wins. They're almost all fake. The people who claim to have been making consistent money in only a few months are almost never around in a year. This is a very difficult path and way more stressful than your 9-5. Think carefully.

What you need to do is start investing your money. Day trading is way too difficult especially if you work 9-5. Day trading should be treated like a full time job, even then it’s extremely difficult. You need a lot of capital as well in order to implement strong risk management.

you will need to commit to around 2-5 years of losing before achieving consistency, if it even happens. This requires an obsessive personality and possibly a love/addiction to trading as well.

Start from creating and using a paper account, you will already be better than 99% of beginner traders. Get ready for 1-2 years of learning. At this point anything you find on the internet is good enough.

Head over to babypips.com it's extremely useful. Also, listen to or read "Trading In The Zone"
Just be prepared to learn for a significant amount of time

Start with trading stocks. Don’t aim for home runs but small consistent wins. Later on you can look into swing trading stocks and options. Good place to learn about day trading stocks Ross Cameron, swing trading stocks Kristen Quallamagie, swing trading Options Sean Trades, and for Options day and swing Vincent Desiano( optionsinsider) on YouTube. Their free content is enough if you go to the charts and practice.
