Because price action context matters more than anything else. The idea that you are going to find some automatic "every time this setup occurs I'll enter" type of strategy that is consistently profitable year to year is not going to happen. Whether a setup has a real chance of success or not almost completely depends on the higher time frame market context you are in. People will have success for months and months and then all of a sudden their strategy "stops working" and they give back all their profits and they have no idea why. It's because market context/regime/whatever you want to call it changed. And being exposed to all the different market contexts multiple times takes years. That is the real reason it takes years to get consistent. It's because it takes years of watching price action before you have seen everything it can throw at you and learn to adjust to it in real time.

It’s risk management, you don’t know how you feel until it’s real money and you experience it several times, seriously you may think you understand how you are supposed to act or feel but it’s different when you are in the middle of it. It’s a skill to practice and that takes a lot of live money sessions.

It's exactly the reasons you listed. All comes down to natural human psychology. People react differently when their position is in red or green. If you ignore everything, just pick one direction, add SL TP set to 1:1 RRR and risk 1%, I can assure you will end up then most people in first year.

트레이딩도 다른 기술과 마찬가지로 시간이 필요합니다. 지속 가능하고 반복 가능한 우위를 찾고 이를 실행할 수 있도록 훈련하는 데 수년이 걸립니다. 우위를 찾는 과정을 10회 이상 반복하며 각 회차마다 충분한 백테스트 데이터와 시뮬레이션 테스트를 거쳐야 하죠. 저는 1년 넘게 하나의 전략을 다듬고 있는데 이제야 대회 통과 가능성을 보이고 있습니다. 시간과 인내, 그리고 많은 실패가 필요하며 저 역시 수년 걸렸습니다.

It’s a skill like anything else. It takes years to find a sustainable, repeatable edge and then train yourself to execute on it. And when I say find an edge, think of it as going through an iterative process 10+ times to refine it, with each iteration taking months to obtain enough back testing data to support the initial trading thesis plus enough forward testing data in a demo account to validate that the theory holds up in live markets with execution costs and imperfect fills (I.e.- slippage, commissions and fees). I have been refining one single strategy for over a year and just now have it to a point where it’s proving to have the potential to pass a prop firm trial. It takes time, patience, and a lot of losing, and that takes years in my personal experience.

At the end of the day, it’s a mind thing. You have to learn yourself in a way that forces you to have a certain type if discipline over your emotions. We’re human so it’s a constant battle that takes time to overcome. You don’t know what you don’t know, and when you are confronted with a new or different challenge, it’s easy to rely on old habits that’ll put you right back in the mix you thought you grew from.
