시장 입장에선 왜 그 사건에 반응해야 하죠? 전 세계에서 매일 끔찍한 일들이 일어나지만 시장은 그때마다 움직이지 않습니다. 차갑게 들릴 수 있지만 그게 현실이에요.

시장은 그 살인 사건 자체를 아무 의미로 보지 않습니다. 그게 시장의 역할이 아니니까요. 기업 실적이나 경제에 영향이 없다면 시장이 반응할 이유가 없죠. 시장은 민주주의의 건강도를 재는 지표가 아닙니다.

The market doesn’t view the murder as anything. That’s not its role. If it has no bearing on the earnings picture or economy then why would it move markets? The market isn’t an indicator of the health of a democracy.

1) 이번 일은 과거 켄트 주립대 사건과 비슷해요. 당시에도 시장이 소폭 하락했다 바로 반등했죠. 2) 오늘 아침 월즈와 트럼프 간에 협의가 있었고, 보비노 대신 호먼이 등장한 것도 주목할 부분입니다. 3) BCA가 조사를 맡게 된 것도 갈등을 누그러뜨린 계기였다고 봅니다.

1) This is similar to Kent State. Market barely dipped and then went back up. I was downvoted before for saying that but its an apt comparison

2) There was de-escalation with Walz and Trump this morning and a seeming replacement of Bovino with Homan. Not a great switch but Homan is Trumps familiar and shows a greater acknowledgment that Noem and Bovino messed up

3) BCA is being allowed to investigate. This was essentially Minnesota’s demand which de-escalated the potential civil war like flash point.

What happened was awful and I am completely pissed off about it.

That being said, the market is affected by companies future earnings, not feelings. Putting cold dispassionate glasses on, I'd say the incident reduced the ability for the administration to do crazy shit. Yes, it's being spun and a good portion of the right wing base is still on board, but it has absolutely shook some of the base. The market risk was (and still is) that the incident will cause unrest to spiral out of control. But its been 48 hours and it is unlikely to happen at this point.

Its going to be a couple weeks before polls show us how much opinions of his base changed. There's also the greenland thing which also wasn't very popular amongst his base.
