제 생각에는 이게 현명한 선택일 것 같아요. 애플은 AI가 주력 분야가 아니니 수천억 달러를 들여서 아무도 돈을 내지 않을 대규모 언어 모델을 만들지 않는 거죠. 다른 회사들이 비용을 부담하게 하고, 이미 보유한 플랫폼에 AI 기술을 라이선스하는 전략인 것 같습니다.

IMO this will prove to be a smart move. AI is not their thing so they’re not spending hundreds of billions to make another LLM nobody wants to pay for. Let others do the spending and then license it onto the platform you already own.

개인적으로 애플은 AI 버블에 대한 좋은 헤지 수단입니다. 만약 AI가 실패하더라도(그럴 거라는 뜻은 아니고요) 애플은 다른 대형 기술주들보다 덜 피해를 입을 것 같아요. AI 과대 hype에 의존하지 않고 성장하고 있으니까요.

Apple is a good hedge against the AI bubble imo. If AI crashes and burns (not saying that it will), Apple is probably the least hurt by it compared to the other big tech companies. They aren’t relying on AI hype to grow.

웃기네요. 구글이 실적 발표에서 새 픽셀폰 발표하는 것과 같아요. 이건 실적 보고서니까, 실적 전화 회의 때 일반적인 멘트나 나올 뿐입니다. 애플은 준비되거나 새어나가지 않는 이상 아무 말도 안 해요.

애플이 어떤 AI를 새로 만든다고 기대하시나요? 이미 아이폰과 아이패드에 Gemini나 ChatGPT 같은 게 탑재되어 있잖아요. Xcode IDE에 AI 기능을 넣을 수도 있겠지만, 앱스토어 정책에 위배될 수도 있습니다. 다른 AI 관련 발표는 마케팅용으로 보일 수도 있겠네요.

Doesn't iphone and ipad have gemini / chatgpt already?
They could introduce AI in their xcode ide but not sure if that goes agains their store policies.
Anything else they could introduce Ai would probably sound like a cheap marketing.

Apple has low capex and is holding cash while the rest of mag7 is spending in every direction on infrastructure without really knowing which way the wind’s going to blow in the longterm, or seeming to care that devil will come for his dues and they better come across. Meanwhile Apple’s outsourcing what ai infrastructure and systems it needs, beholden to no specific system, able to pivot to the most relevant and cutting edge technology without bring tied down to its own ai development or anyone else’s. Apple’s watching for the next big thing, knowing it doesn’t know what it is yet, while everyone else thinks they do. It’s a good strategy.

M4, M5 울트라 칩 라인업을 보면, 통합 메모리 아키텍처에 집중하며 대규모 언어 모델을 노트북에서 직접 실행할 수 있게 준비 중입니다. 현재 AI는 상태 비저장(stateless)인데, 아마존과 구글은 미래에는 상태 저장(stateful) AI와 에이전트가 중요해질 거라고 했습니다. 그리고 하드웨어 전문가가 새 CEO가 된 사실도 기억하세요. 직접 조사하고 섣불리 판단하지 마세요.

The notion that Apple is not leaning into AI or spending on AI is ridiculous and honestly lazy. They are a hardware company so look at their hardware for innovations not software or clould.

If you all take a step back and look at their actual product line up for their chips M4 and M5 Ultra, you would see that they are focusing and leading in Unified Memory Architecture meaning they are pushing to have LLMs run locally on their laptops.

They look to be positioning to have the best chips for Stateful LLMs and Agents on local devices. The stateful part is important because right now AI is stateless and Amazon and Google pretty much said the future will be stateful AI LLMs, Agents and Applications.

And now they put their hardware guy as the new CEO. So put 2 and 2 together. Do research, stop assuming.

수십 조 달러를 AI에 무작정 쏟아붓지 않는 건 괜찮은 전략 같아요. 사람들이 원하는 제품을 만드는 게 보통 좋은 사업 전략이죠.

I mean not setting fire to hundreds of billions of dollars in AI spending with little return is probably a good strategy. Making products people want is generally a good business strategy.
