reading a few books and “dabbled” in day trading isn’t going to cut it either as you need a couple HUNDRED hours of studying and experience to actually make it into a career, with 200k its possible as you could easily make 200 a day with just 50k capital but just keep in mind a lot of people do day trading as a side gig for years until they feel comfortable to do it full time

Question is “realistically” can you make a living doing something you don’t know how to do? tbh no. but with the mindset that you absolutely have to make it? chances are probably lower.

It's weird but somehow when you start trading with real money, it demands a tuition fee. And that fee ranges from person to person.

I personally lost 12k, if you count the profit that I gained during the process it mounted up to 30k. And till now I'm still not profitable.

So if you wanna burn all your 200k, go ahead. Cause unless you got extremely strong discipline, you are gonna revenge trade. I promise you. You will do that and your 200k will go off faster than me in bed

80-95% of day traders lose money. Even experienced ones that earn consistently can still lose. So plan carefully. I lost quite a huge chunk so decided to stick to my day job and side hustles and invest more instead.

If you only risk 1k at a time, you could probably make it work for 210 days

Well, I was doing a little bit of scalping and swing trading until I did lose around 7% or my capital during one week. That was absolutely stupid,I know. I just didn't apply risk management and was trading too many military stocks. Anyway, then I paper traded for 4 months until I was getting every day break even or small profit. Behind that I've got a clear strategy and swing trading is not my thing anymore. Only scalping at the opening, i.e. momentum trading. 

The problem with 200K is not money itself. Sometimes it's just not linear. Psychologically it's easier to lose 20 dollars than 500, so when you buy a stock for, say, 50K and it dips a little bit and you have "-500" on your screen, you will likely close the trade. But this trade could have been profitable.... Moreover, imagine trading Penny stocks with such a big money...there will be slippeages, spreads etc.

If I were you, I would invest most of this money into a solid ETF, and would start live trading with something like 5K or 10K - the amount you are ready to lose. But first paper trading. Meanwhile invest the rest somewhere where you can easily reach this money if needed for a (real) trading.

Short answer, no. Even being profitable (a pretty high bar to pass) trading means you should expect market-scale returns of 10-20%, and off 200k, that would be poverty level wages, which you then have to spend to cover expenses and won't be able to reinvest and use to grow your account.

200k is having a good sized account, but you're nowhere near escape velocity as you'll be treading water desperately. And that's not even factoring in the losses you'll rack up trying to learn.

Honestly? No, you won't be making a living. You'll be gradually bleeding money, that's for sure. That 200K should go in an ETF, you'll be doing better than 99% of "daytraders". And in the meantime, open a 1K$ account, trade it for a few months, then after blowing it realize "thank god it was only a 1k account". Then repeat the process a few times, until you get tired of blowing 1k accounts. Then, go back to reality and realize that the dream of "trading for a living" won't happen.
