99.99% of people posting here are unsuccessful and unprofitable. Do not take anything said here with any sort of confidence of being true or correct. Treat this place as entertainment, nothing else. I just saved you years of headaches.

Just my opinion…. If you read posts here over a long enough period of time, most people who claim to have a system, are just making claims to satisfy some theoretical reason to keep trading. There are very few people who actually have a back tested, forward tested system that is proven to work through multiple market conditions. Riding momentum for short times with a controlled stop and discipline is how just about every successful floor day trader traded. If it works for you, and you can follow it profitably, it’s a system.

If you're profitable, just keep doing what you're doing. I don't have a "strategy" or edge either, I just look at what the market sentiment early morning for SPY and Russell and base my daily positions on that.

Your way of trading **is a strategy in itself** - you are profitable, you wait for a setup, have your rules to take profit etc. Don't get into the rabbit hole of comparision. Most people are barely profitable like you.

Hi, there's no one size fits all when it comes to trading. I trade contunation/ momentum too and don't stick to a particular bias. Honestly, as long as you know your set up and feel you've got an edge with that set up, continue to refine it and keep at it. Sometimes I feel like I'm doing too little compared to others, but that's a problem in itself, comparison.

I think price action is enough for e-mini. I am currently doing small cap stock but quite want to learn sniping at futures market. I have price action books that Authur was doing e-mini. It didn't work well for me to use it on small cap stock market. But I think I am going to revisit those books. The target most trader seeking are reversals. And price action can cover that.

You should be at the least defining your strategy slowly and taking notes/tracking metrics. That way when things start to not work and you struggle. You will have data to fall back on and that will help you make better changes. Vs just making changes based on thoughts and feelings But yes strategy matters. I don't know a single career trader who has said "yeah I actually never really had a strategy I just have good risk management" or whatever you want to say.

Do you have confirmed long term profitability? Thats all that matters.

You do have a strategy which is scalping based on momentum. I also add pullbacks, reversals and key levels and thats my strategy and have not had a red month since profitable. You'll be fine

The risk isn’t that momentum trading is bad, it’s that your edge might not be clearly defined. Right now it sounds a bit like “feel + experience,” which can drift without you noticing. That’s usually where people get caught when conditions change. You don’t necessarily need some complex system, but it might help to formalize what you’re already doing. Like what specific momentum conditions make you enter, what invalidates the trade, and when you skip entirely. Even just writing it down can show you if there’s real consistency behind it. Also curious how long you’ve been tracking results. A few good weeks can feel solid, but markets love to humble that kind of confidence eventually.
